The single most important issue eroding the well-being of America and Americans is the handling of the fascist Israeli state. Right now, (on top of genocide and colonialism, etcetera) the Israeli lobby is aggressively hollowing out the core of America.

President Harris gets only one first chance to put fascism on notice, and it comes this week. It is her perfect chance to start righting the wrong that has made the USA and Israel pariahs of the world.

Call her President Harris, reflecting hope for her as a potential improvement over Biden and Trump. That is not a high bar. And, her meeting with Netanyahu can be a signal of business-as-usual on the prime issue that governs all else. Israeli fascism thwarts American opportunities and exacerbates our problems.

Sadly, as reported in today’s NY Times, she has agreed to meet with Netanyahu privately this week. Maybe for some reason, she could not avoid this, but she should not leave it to speculation why she needs to collaborate with a desperate fascist. Protocol is nothing next to genocide.

With Hope for President Harris and the USA

We need a clear-throated, firm, transparent stance in opposition to war crimes being perpetrated by Israel with US assistance. According to holocaust survivor Rene Lichtman, “Israel has lost its way and is now, at America’s expense, doing anything it wants. Israel is no longer simply playing the role of the world’s victims. They have gone on to be justified oppressors.”

The International Criminal Justice (ICJ) can already make a personal case against Biden for aiding and abetting. So, it seems Harris would not want to carry on and be implicated in war against humanity. If she fails to come clean or take a meaningful stance on this, you can conclude you are watching the latest new step toward the death of an empire. Since she is a former prosecutor, we can hope she does not bend into war crimes.

Support for Ms. Harris Will Be Unstoppable if She Tackles the Important Issue

Kamala Harris might well win the presidency on street-level issues like abortion. She is, after all, a successful prosecutor running against a failed criminal. When the race gets down and dirty, she won’t have the same level of a base as Trump, but she can get tough. There is a lot in her favor. There is excitement that she might enable the braver new America.

But here is the point: there would be no speculation or questions about her winning if she were to take a timely, strong stance against fascism. Additional supporters would come out of the woodwork. If she wins without a real stance on rampant fascism, America continues to crumble.

It is great to see the peoples’ relief at Harris potentially becoming the president. There is much-needed joy in her presence, to hear her talk expansively about freedom and justice and opportunity. Feels great, sounds great, but it flies in the face of the way the military industrial complex operates.

Hopefully, she is allowed to proceed and slow the relentless demise of democracy. To proceed and get it done, she will have to win over, or overcome, the billionaire class. War and imperialism are still top money-makers. If she can’t take a public patriotic stance when a genocidal war criminal is gas-lighting Congress, it says a lot – not the least of which is US contempt for international law.

There is no ‘saving democracy’ if American leadership continues to cozy up to fascism in lockstep with Israel. Democracy is the righteous fight, and the people will be with her if she stands on the right side the important issue, against the fascist Israeli lobby.
